Why not just paste my whole manuscript in?
AI suffers from something called a “lossy middle,” which means when a model has a lot in its context window, the content in the middle is retrieved less often. But when you paste in your manuscript, the middle is where most of it lands! And your whole manuscript is not what the agent needs anyway; what it needs is plot information, style guidance, and continuity logs, not reams of unstructured prose it can't retrieve. So Proselon sends the scene, its neighbours, and the story bible pages that govern them, and leaves the rest on disk.
Why no RAG?
RAG answers a question by searching an index of the book and handing the model the fragments that scored highest on likeness. But for fiction, the context surrounding the fragment is just as important as the fragment itself. And maintaining that index creates a chore: an index is a second copy of the book that becomes instantly out-of-date every time you make an edit, and time and tokens have to be spent keeping it fresh. Instead, the co-writer uses the manuscript as its only source of truth — never out-of-date, always with the context it needs.
Every story is drafted in eight steps.
Proselon's co-writer develops a book in eight steps, arranged in the order that produces the best results. This starts with your story's plot and themes, then the world it takes place in, then the style in which it's told. These are used to drill down through book, chapter, and scene outlines. Then drafting begins. After that comes several rounds of revision. Last, a publishing agent walks you through distribution, whether your story is fanfic or a bestseller.

Getting Started
You know the old Picasso quote: "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist." The first step is the co-writer doing just that. You tell it about your story idea, then it sets sensible stylistic defaults for a story of that kind. Every one of them is yours to change at any time.
Plot, Themes, and Conflict
The highest-level work comes first, with premise, major plot points, and threads that carry from one book to the next. Then the co-writer learns about your story's external conflicts, internal conflicts, and themes. These are used to build the foundation of your story.
Worldbuilding
Worldbuilding comes next. Do as much or as little worldbuilding as you want — build a world so detailed it rivals Faerûn, or define only what's absolutely necessary. The choice is up to you.
Style and Voice
How your prose ought to sound. You define model prose passages with the AI co-writer, which demonstrate the prose style you want, then decide things like tense, point of view, and other stylistic markers.
Outlining
Once you and the co-writer understand your story, the co-writer works the plot out at every level, from the arc of the story all the way down to outlines for every single scene. Along the way, the outline is checked for consistency and storytelling strength.
Drafting
The co-writer drafts each scene of your story, using everything determined in the previous five steps to ensure each scene builds on the last, sticking to your vision the whole way through.
Editing
After drafting, the co-writer steps through industry-standard editing steps: Developmental review, a continuity check, line-level revisions, and a copy edit. Last, an AI mock reader (different from the co-writer) reads the whole book before declaring anything finished.
Publishing
Last, the co-writer walks you through publishing. It helps you do title research to select a strong title, write a store listing with a blurb, categories, keywords, and author bio. It also helps you make a cover, do ebook formatting. Last, it even walks you through the publishing process.
Seven editing passes on every book.
Fiction gets its own run of them, each in a fresh context, and the agent that edits is never the agent that drafted. So the editor never grades its own work.
Once every scene carries a draft, one pass reads the whole book for the constructions it keeps reaching for and recommends them for your Anti-Pattern Corpus. It edits nothing. The entries you approve are what the drafting screen and the line assessment then hunt for.
Each scene read cold against the plan it was drafted from. Does it earn its place, does the emotional arc land, does the internal conflict register. The pass returns findings rather than edits, and says whether the problem is structural.
Every drafted scene is rewritten wholesale against your voice corpus, by a different model than the one that drafted it. Diction, rhythm and imagery are open. Events, facts and what any line of dialogue means are fixed.
A fresh reader works the scene against your style guide and your anti-pattern corpus, cataloguing what each sentence does wrong. It returns findings and a verdict, and never touches the manuscript itself.
Names, dates, wounds and promises, measured against that book’s own Story State ledger, one rolling record per volume seeded from the one before it. This is also what confirms the voice rewrite left the facts where it found them.
Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and the consistency of every name and in-world term, with your own standing conventions winning over the machine’s preferences. Then one final readthrough for snags.
Two readers at once. One loads the manuscript and nothing else and reports where it sagged and what it saw coming. The other holds the plot, the themes and the ledger. Publishing does not begin until they clear it.

Once your manuscript is done, you still need formatting help, a cover, and a blurb. The co-writer, who by this point knows your book back to front, helps you write blurbs and listings, and provides prompts for you to use with image generators to get the cover you want.
