About Proselon
Proselon is a free, open writing system that acts as your AI developmental editor. It interviews you about your story, organizes your ideas into a structured plan, and drafts prose in your voice—through a disciplined, multi-pass editorial process that carries you from premise to a finished, publishable manuscript. You remain the creative decision-maker at every step; nothing happens without your say-so.
It runs on the Claude or ChatGPT subscription you already pay for, and your whole manuscript stays as plain files on your own computer—no cloud, no lock-in, and no monthly fee for the tool itself. Proselon is free and open source on GitHub.
Artistic commitment
We aspire to build a tool that helps create the next generation of great work—not something to produce AI slop that floods the internet, and not something to produce harmful or dangerous content. We can't right the ethical and copyright harms done to build large language models. But we can use the technology to push forward the frontier of human creativity and artistic development.
Environmental commitment
We recognize that AI tools have an environmental cost. We are committed to calculating this tool's impact on the environment and assessing what, and in what amount, it is feasible to donate to charity—and to which charities we ought to donate—to offset any environmental impact.
